National Bank Notes > Georgia
Griffin, First NB, 2075

An elusive Georgia note by any standards. The bank liquidated in January 1931, and issued 1,907 sheets of Type One $10 s. Barely three years earlier the bank had switched from the City NB to assume the First NB title. Large notes are scarce on the first title and down right rare on the second. Lastly, a scant four small notes are recorded, with none of the other three any better than Fine. This piece is the only one of those four to be sold at auction as far as we can tell. That occurred back in 2001, when our astute consignor picked this little cherry off the tree. He picked well, as even the important Rome Collection failed to contain any note at all on this charter.
