Goldfield Advertising Note for B. Shemanski, Jeweler
Grade:
VF
An interesting advertising note on the back of a facsimile Confederate $10 note of 1861. B. Shemanski was a jeweler whose shop was located at 412 Main St. in Goldfield, circa 1915. Goldfield was one of the largest cities in Nevada in 1910, with a population of almost 20,000. When the mines started to fail, Goldfield withered. In 1923, a large part of the city was destroyed by fire. B. Shemanski left Goldfield in 1920 and set up shop at 704 Market St. in San Francisco.
