Fr. 427 $20 Original

Sometimes I wish I knew more about the Civil War and the reconstruction era that followed because it seems to me that Original Series First Charters from southern locations are just plain rare. Then there's Selma, Alabama which ruins my theory, or does it? Maybe the reason they were saved was because the Rebels were not willing to take them. They seem to be rare and I believe they are. This bank has two Original First Charters known, a $10 and $20. This note is very well worn but it's likely the only $20 First Charter from Georgia. The pen signatures are still clear. Records show 10 large notes reported on the bank.
