Finding a beautiful $5 First Charter Original that isn't from Selma, Alabama is indeed difficult. That this is the only $5 Original reported on the bank makes it even more important. The colors are sublime and traces of original embossing can be seen on the back from the seal points and various face design elements. We last offered this note in the 2004 Memphis sale where it encountered stiff competition. There has been nothing auctioned from this bank since then that even approaches its quality or importance, so we expect a similar result tonight. The great signatures are a bonus.
