September 2, 1861. The central vignette of this multicolor note features a portrait of Alexander H. Stephens, Vice President of the Confederacy, presented in an oval atop a scene of agricultural and commerce products. The denomination; represented in Roman numerals, flank the central design, with the ends of the note also presenting the denomination, all accomplished in bluish-green ink. Two 'X' cancellations are present between the portrait and denomination.
