This institution is one of the rarest of Santa Ana's five issuing banks, with only eight notes known, evenly divided between $10 and $20 denominations (all 1902ND). The American National Bank was in operation for less than five years and closed in 1925. This note's last public appearance was in 1990 as part of the famed Krakover Collection. It is significantly higher grade than both the Colver and Horwedel Collection examples.
