This bank was chartered early and issued only First Charters. This note is by far the best of two Deuces, of the 13 large notes known (all First Charters). There have only been four notes publicly offered, with the best from the Melamed Collection, a Ch. CU $5, which sold in 2010 for $10,350. Otherwise, it's been virtually a decade since Smythe offered an Ace, and 20 years prior to that before another record. The bottom margin is cut slightly into the design at the left but the pen signatures are spectacular.
