Even the most advanced collector of Nationals will find a reason to add this marvelous $5 First Charter to his holdings. I can't recall the last time I saw a $5 1875 with margins like this note exhibits. The paper is 100% original with embossing in all the right places. Three light vertical bends are all that is keeping this note from a Choice CU grade. The most recent sale of a $5 1875 from this bank was in the 2009 Memphis sale, where another AU brought $5,175. The paper quality was likely the same as this piece, but the margins on this note are far superior. This note is new to the census, raising the total count to 21 large notes, of which two are $5 1875s.
