Cr. 136, B-276. This note was previously sold and described as, "Ruins of Jamestown. Ball Plate Bond. Rarity 7. Less than 15 survivors estimated. Most known examples are lower grade and/or damaged. Certainly one of the finest known. Ex: Ford, Ex. Fricke. A great CSA rarity, and museum quality. Worthy of a premium bid. Stained. According to Ball, only 25 were issued, and they were all destroyed. Upon close inspection it appears that this example was filled in after the War." The previous description mentions a stain but I do not see anything. This piece realized $7,000 in the prior sale.
