Let's face it...fifty bucks was a heck of a lot of money when this note was issued, and when Franklin D. Roosevelt recalled the gold and Gold Certificates in 1934 not many people had the money or desire to save what had fast become such an irrelevant item of the note so distant past. This is my platform for extolling the virtues of high denomination Gold Certificates like this one. While not the finest graded, no doubt it is among them, it has great centering, amazing color and premium paper quality.
