HIGH-GRADE OKLAHOMA STATE BROWNBACK
National Bank Notes > Oklahoma
Checotah, First NB, W5128
Fr. 478 $5 1882BB
Grade:
VF/XF
As a type, Brown Backs are very scarce on the state of Oklahoma since few banks were still issuing them when statehood came in 1907. The $5 denomination is especially rare. Only 7 examples have been traced for all Oklahoma banks. Of those seven, just two could be graded higher than this marvelous example. The Power Collection, an assemblage of nearly 500 different Brown Backs from every state, failed to have even a single example from Oklahoma. A note worthy of the finest collection and long considered to be more valuable than a $5 I.T. or O.T.
