Lot #2067 - Burns, First NB, P6295

SERIAL NUMBER ONE OREGON RED SEAL

National Bank Notes > Oregon

Burns, First NB, P6295
Fr. 613 $10 1902RS #1
Grade: Ch. AU
Oregon Red Seals are quite scarce with just 35 known for the entire state. Compare that to the 600 Blue Seals reported. Of those 35 pieces, about a third are number 1 notes. The First NB of Burns was chartered in 1902, and began by issuing just over 2,000 Red Seal sheets of $5, $10 and $20 notes. The first sheet of $5s was saved as was this single $10. This beauty was never circulated, but it picked up some handling at the corners. The paper quality is all there, the note bright and embossed in all the right spots. One of the $5 #1s in XF 45 was offered in last year's Memphis sale where it brought $28,750. This unique $10 should do as well.
Current Bid: $ 18,000.00

Estimate: ($ 25,000.00 - $ 45,000.00)
