This is one of the rarest of the Lincoln $100 Legal Tender notes. There are a total of seven notes in existence today with three remaining in government institutions, doubtful to ever be sold. Only the Fr. 173 is as elusive. The printing was only 24,000 notes, which substantiates its rarity. This is the second finest known. The note pedigrees back to Bob Denerson, an early 1970s era Los Angeles collector who regularly competed with Jim Thompson to build the best collection by Friedberg.
