MS84-075. July 20, 1841. A rare note from a seldom seen issuer that incorporated in 1836 to connect Knoxville to the proposed (at the time) Western and Atlantic Railroad. The company reorganized in 1848 as the East Tennessee and Georgia Railroad Company. Imprints of Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Hufty of Philadelphia and Danforth, Underwood & Co. of New York. Two early steam train vignettes are depicted at top and bottom center.
