Charleston $1 Bank of the State of South Carolina

July 15, 1862. Another ace from this bank, this one with a red protector on face and back. The only issues are a couple of edge bumps. This note is stamped on the back "Dabney, Morgan & Co vs. the Pres't & Dir's of the Bank of the State of So CA Proved C.H. Simonton, Referee." This possibly indicates legal action after the bank failed in 1865. Haxby SC-45 118c.
