This is the first 1882 Date Back seen and it's clear that the two places where the town name is spelled out that one is wrong, as the tombstone reads Greensberg while left of the title it's spelled Greensburg. This is the first mention of the error I have heard about and this Westmoreland County bank issued 1,045 sheets of this style. All other banks used the Greensburg spelling. This is only the bank's fifth note reported. The only note offered from this charter sold in 2002. Excellent pen signatures on this one.
