Lackawaxen, Pike County Joel Shannon $2
Grade:

Hoober UNL. June 1, 1859. A very rare merchant issue from a tiny location. Dogs attack buck at center. Lackawaxen sits on the Delaware River across from New York in northern Pike County. A tiny hamlet today known for its Lackawaxen Inn and the Zane Grey Museum. This is the only note we have ever seen from this tiny obscure location.
