The Series 472 was ordered April 9, 1947, issued March 22, 1948 and withdrawn on June 20, 1951. The catalogs indicate one to three replacements known and this piece was just discovered two days ago and it's the last addition to the 2015 Memphis IPMS sale. I grade this note VF 20. I suppose there are no real problems and it has even circulation and wear. No doubt someone will be smiling, first when they see this image and again when they get to add this to their collection. I'm just glad we get to be part of the story.
