This is the second rarest of all the $2 1928 series stars. There are only about three truly uncirculated examples known, and this is one of them. The note is centered a shade low, but exhibits nice original embossing on the seal and serial numbers. The note is B.E.P. fresh and has great color, although there is some minor handling evident. If you are trying to assemble a set of uncirculated stars, I recommend a strong bid on this piece, as it is the only CU example that I can remember being available for many years. It has a pedigree that can be traced all the way back to the Jim Thompson collection.
