Here is a jewel from a state that produced many jewels for National Bank Note collectors. This is only the fifth note reported from this Essex County bank. It has an amazing layout and still has the bottom selvage attached with annotation 'Last sheet signed by W. A. Michols, Cashier'. The note is obviously the 'D' position on the sheet. It's certainly among the best of all $5 Brown Back layouts, or at least it is to me. PCGS notes: contemporary inscriptions in extra bottom selvage.
