We are thrilled to feature three of the 16 known $1 1899 Black Eagles with serial #99999999 in this sale. Based on research done by Martin Gengerke and Mike Abramson, we find the existence of these eight digit solid 9s Black Eagle notes: 99999999, B99999999, V99999999, B99999999B, M99999999M, N99999999N, R99999999R, U99999999U (also listed here), V99999999V (this note), X99999999X, B99999999A (also listed here), D99999999A, H99999999A, M99999999A, N99999999A, V99999999A. Most of these notes were publicly auctioned in raw condition, so there is no way to know for sure what the slabbed grade would be for the others. This note is graded PCGS 63 PPQ Ch. New, which likely puts it near the top of this list condition-wise. Having the chance to own three of the 13 examples of this serial number is an occasion that won't come along anytime soon.
