Although no one has an exact count, our guess is that less than 30 solid serial #99999999 $1 1928 Series through 1957-B series Silver Certificates have crossed the auction block in the past 50 years. Contrasting the fact that between 12 and 15 solid serial #999999999 $1 FRNs have shown up, with most of them commanding $18,000 to $30,000 each, the price you need to pay for the Silver Certificate #99999999 is a relative bargain. We think all solid 9s Silver Certificates are valued far lower today than what they may realize one day in the future. This piece has centering for a 1935 era Silver Certificate that would warrant a higher grade.
