This note along with several others in today's auction came from the Mel Wilmore collection at the 2014 CPMX auction. If you contact every dealer who sells small size US Currency, and ask for a list of $1 1928 era solid serial numbers for sale, we doubt you'll find any. We have seen only three at auction in the last two years, and know that very few exist. A wise collector will salt this rarity away for future generations.
