This note were issued on September 27, 1858, after the Mormons had established their settlement in the Salt Lake Valley. These notes were redeemable, in the Utah Territory only, for live stock when presented in amounts of $100 or more. According to Mormon currency expert, Douglas E. Nyholm, this is a Type 2 note, with the engraved signature of Brigham Young. PMG notes splits, which are along the top and the bottom of the note but which are tiny. This note is a Rust 96.
