This is the January 15, 1865 issue and not to be confused with all of the more common early State of Georgia notes. Absolutely worthy of its grade and the finest example we have come across. Milledgeville notes are common up through the Ch. CU grades but a nearly superb note such as this rarely comes along. The $5 denomination only had a printing of 4,000 and most of the examples we come across from this later issue are of the $50 denomination. James Oglethorpe vignette appears at center; he convinced King George II to grant him a charter to start a colony. The voluminous Dorris collection was also missing this type.
