New York Phenix Bank $2 Proof
Grade: PCGS Apparent Abt. New 55
Quite unusual but the Phenix Bank survived for nearly a century as an independent institution. A scarce bank and even scarcer proof with the only $2 note we can remember. Some light staining does little to detract from this desirable note that is deeply embossed and not from the ABNC archives. Central design is a Phoenix rising from the flames. Always worth several hundred dollars when they actually appear with lightly handled examples such as this one the norm.
