An exceptional quality example of this large format note that uses leftover paper from the September 1773 issue of "Ashby notes." PCGS notes some small edge and internal splits as well as minor mounting remnants. In totality, these issues have very little effect on how this note faces up. Countersigned on the back by Robert Carter Nicholas, an important figure in Virginia colonial history. Within the past year we have seen problemed examples, with far lesser eye appeal, broach the thousand dollar barrier with relative ease.
