PA-224b 4 Pounds April 10, 1777 Red and Black
Grade:
PMG Ch. XF 45 Net
A note that seems to have AU detail which would explain why PMG net graded this note. The split repairs are at along the center fold and are really only visible when the note is candled. We have seen our fair share of these highest denomination notes but the eye appeal wielded by this piece transcends any technical grade you could conjure up. Gigantic margins, superb printing and signatures, and mountainous embossing all come together to make this one of the prettiest examples you will find. A denomination that is unknown in CU and likely to stay that way.
