April 20, 1838. Originally chartered by the state of Ohio in 1837, this bank was given the mission of assisting orphans. The bank used its charter to issue lots of notes, none of which helped orphans. It collapsed under a wave of lawsuits by 1842. Haxby OH-215, G8.
