The Cobbessee National Bank of Gardiner is located in Kennebec County. It was chartered on March 22, 1865 and issued just under 10,000 sheets, both Original and 1875 Series, before liquidating on April 18, 1884. This is the first note seen from this charter #939 which was one of five national banks that issued notes. One remains unknown but all are extremely tough. This note has excellent pen signatures as well.
