This Cass County bank was chartered in 1865 and issued notes until 1918 when it went into liquidation. This is one of only five Original Series $20s known from the state, and interestly enough there are 245 listed in the nation, according to the National Bank Note Census. This note has excellent pen signatures of J. Robertson, President and J.G. Bare, Cashier. The Illinois Type Set.
