Screaming red seal and charter numbers atop snow white paper which complement the blue serial #1. Not merely a scarce town, but equally an opportunity for the collector seeking to enhance a collection already replete with trophies. On a tremendously weaker market many years ago, we sold this piece for $4,140, a bargain in hindsight, most especially considering that this is the only #1 on the bank with a paltry 12 large recorded. Even with an aggressive bid, tonight s hammer might look like a similar bargain in the rear view mirror. PCGS notes: small edge splits at left and right, which are completely obscured by the holder.
