Fr. 817?? $10 1915 Kansas City
Grade: PMG Gem UNC 65 EPQ     PMG
They continue to expand the possibilities for this series and I am not convinced we will ever have all the varieties. These signatures are what I believe are printed mechanically after the BEP, like the machine that was used to put signatures on National Bank Notes after it was designed. These are not in the plate, engraved or stamped, and are black, not red or hand-signed. This holder calls the note an Fr. 817a, likely graded before the 20th Edition Friedberg was published that changed the definition of 817a. I don't know what PMG would determine the catalog number to be but I know this variety and the pink-red stamped sigs are the most available of this issue as they have been for decades. A true Gem type note. NO RETURNS - if you are not happy with the Friedberg number because you may see it change yet again. The note is Gem 65 EPQ for the type, regardless of how the signatures were applied.
