Limon, First NB, W11504
Fr. 606 $5 1902ND
Grade: VF/XF
A great new find from this Lincoln County bank and only the 11th large note reported. The note is fresh and well centered with wonderful purple penned signatures. In 2010 we sold an XF at $7,475 but this beautiful example is even nicer. ---- In 1888, the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railroad was laying track from Kansas to Colorado Springs. John Limon ran a work camp where the railroad crossed the Union Pacific line, and the town that grew up at this junction thus became Limon. A major employer in the area today is the Limon Correctional Facility.
