Zillah, Washington Blue Seal

If ever a note had impact, this is it. A glorious cherry on a Washington state location of unbelievable desirability. Only one other large size is known and no small size. This is more than seven full grades finer than the other known example and has eye appeal equal to the prettiest Blue Seals anywhere. This note, one of our consignor's favorites of all time, has its own nickname. 'Godzilla' is now more than just a movie monster. Just over two years ago the other Zillah note, graded VF with internal tears, realized $32,900. While marketed as 'unique', all bidders were aware of the present example and didn't care. It may have been assumed this would not get sold but divorce, along with disease, death and debt are great selling motivators. Precise signatures of L.N. Kohn, Cashier and R.L. Heron, Vice President adorn this flaming work of art. An imperceptible tear has been restored by the premier conservationist, but it's not found easily. A note right up there with the Rhyolite as one of the coolest Blue Seals ever.
