Fr. 1700 $10 1933 #A00002222A
Grade:
PCGS Ch. New 63 PPQ
The 1933 $10 Silver Certificate was first displayed at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933 along with a $20, but no $20 was printed. The note carries the signatures of W.A. Julian and W.H. Woodin. The printing of 216,000 notes may actually be high because the printing was cut short due to a change in the silver policy. The inscription is different than all other Silver Certificates as it specifically mentions payable in 'silver coin': "The United States of America - Ten Dollars - payable in silver coin on demand". This is a special serial #A00002222A, one of many cool numbers that were saved, including the serial #1, which today is likely the most expensive small size note. We are proud to offer such a wonderful example. The paper quality is excellent but the centering is not quite up to Gem standards.
