This bank was chartered as a Gold Bank and later changed to the First National Bank of San Jose. There are eight $20 Original Series reported, and none of those are listed as high a grade as this note. We all know how rare $20 Gold Bank Notes are. This note has a very decent overall appearance with bold signatures. Graded with comments for pinholes and the trim. Very few $20 Gold Bank Notes are ever available nicer than this one, and they would be from San Francisco. The sales records for $20s on this bank are a Good 4 at $12,925, a VG 8 sold in 2007 at $25,300, a VG 10 in 2005 at $25,300 and more recently a Fine 15 Flaws at $23,500.
