One source states that this bank is the oldest surving bank in the world! According to World War II Remembered, one of the five "'public law banks'...large commercial banks that also carried on important savings and mortgage businesses". Issued in Firenze; crowned bank arms with perforated left margin. Neither this branch nor this denomination is listed in this wonderful World War II reference. Few margin tears. The first I have ever seen.
