Grade:
PMG Abt. UNC 50 Net
So far as we can tell Top Pop at both grading services. The only other remotely nice example we can find was the Newman note; a PCGS Apparent VF 30 that topped the $250 figure. This denomination was equal to one shilling. These fractional denomination notes were a workhorse in Colonial America and to find high-grade pieces is quite a laborious undertaking. This same note first sold for $575 as part of the incredibly underappreciated Midnight Ride collection a decade ago. We have little doubt it will approach the four-figure mark this evening. PMG notes: split repair.
