Fr. 468 $5 1882BB
Grade:

Quality like this was normal in the Power Collection, but not among the regular offerings in today's market. High grade and pen signed, this attractive Brown Back will never go out of style. One other $5 BB exists, but it only grades Good. Paris resides in Edgar County and was first purchased from the federal government in 1822. The couple who purchased the land later donated it to the state in order to create a county seat. The name of the town most likely comes from the word "Paris" that is carved into a jack-oak tree in what is now the center of downtown. Group 2. Plate date 8/12/85.
