TWELVE NOTES. Starting in 2007, mosques in Tehran started rubber stamping current UNC notes from Iran with texts from the Koran and gave these pieces to people who made contributions to the mosques. Gradually, the rubber stamping turned into larger overprints with elaborate colorful prints with gold and silver inlays. Eventually the Central Bank stopped this practice.
