Grade: PCGS Ch. VF 35     PCGS
The Jeanne D'Arc was a ship built in the late 1920's as both a training and war ship. She escaped to Hallifax after the fall of France and eventually joined the Free French Forces towards the end of WWII. She participated in Operation Dragon, a landing operation in the south of France (Allied invasion of Provence). The issue is post war when the warship sailed worldwide to secure French overseas territories and train naval cadets globally. The ship was retired in 1964. 50 Francs is a significantly higher denomination. The first we have ever offered. PCGS terms this "Ch. VF 35".
