After Sun Yat Sen became provisional president (January 1, 1912), he met extreme financial difficulties. To meet the enormous costs of his provisional government, he authorized the issue of certain banknotes which could be used as regular money. It was stipulated that they would be redeemed “6 months after issue”. Quite scarce.
