This was once thought to be the first bank in the Territory but notes more recently researched showed dates of 1857, and this is dated January 1, 1858. Remember 1854 was the Kansas Nebraska Act. Signed by E.P. Goddard and A. Wilson. I believe these were listed as R-7 in Walton and they have remained that rare.
