May 14, 1785. Impressed seal at left. A couple of fold tears. From George Latimer of the City of Philadelphia. Witnessed by John Dickinson, Esq., President of the Supreme Executive Council. Signed by John Lukens, Esq., Surveyor General. Also signed by James Potter, Esq., Deputy Surveyor. Lukens was the Surveyor General of both Delaware (1761-1776) and Pennsylvania (1781-1789). James Potter was a soldier, land developer, and politician. George Latimer was also an important player in colonial Pennsylvania politics. In 1791 he was elected as a director of the Bank of the United States. He was also President of the Union Fire Insurance Company. A superb fiscal item.
