TWO NOTES. Size of approximately 181 x 122 mm. Larger than #22a, a standard note at 175 x 114 mm offered for comparison. Serial number with prefix b arranged horizontally; serial number font is different than #22a. Grey-violet underprint. Appears to be hand cut. One light vertical fold; some minor light folds and a 1 mm edge nick. Kardakoff suggested that between 2 and 4 examples were known in his 1953 catalog (RRR designation). Istomin lists four serial numbers against the b prefix in his catalogue (two of which exist in a block) - this note unrecorded. This note appears to be in better condition than those illustrated in the Istomin and Kharitonov catalogs. WBG terms #22b "AU 53". Extremely rare.
