IN-2 G298a. July 1, 1857. 6 HPCs. Printed on India paper and mounted to cardstock. Bald, Cousland & Co. New York and Philada. Listed as SENC in Haxby. Deep red tinted paper seen throughout. Central vignette of men and women together. Outlined "C" protector also at center. Flanked by portraits at lower right and left. Very few $100 Proofs are known on the entire state and this is the only example of this type that we have seen. It originally sold for over $3,500 as part of the Peter Mayer collection.
