This is the fifth note reported on this very rare and desirable bank. There are two lower grade Red Seals and two Blue Seals known with this being the best of the group. There is slight toning around the edges and three hard folds. We are offering the rare Red Seal for the great-grandson of Orville W. McGinnis who was the vice president of the bank in the early 1900s. According to a clip from a paper dated July 27, 1907, Banker's National Bank of Evansville was to open later that year at the corner of Main and Fourth streets. Sam Heston was to be the president; Orville W. McGinnis, Vice President and John O. David, Cashier. Orville McGinnis was an attorney and later in life he was legal counsel for the Citizen's National Bank and the Citizens Trust & Savings Bank of Evansville as well as serving as a director of each institution. Orville's father, Richard P. McGinnis, was also a banker. He was president of the Owensville Banking Co. of Owensville. Owensville Bank was incorporated on May 24, 1900 and on October 31, 1903 they had $112,155.36 in resources.
