RI-1555 G2. Durand 2477. Proof. Early Reed proof type, with PMG noting 1818-1820s. Wide allegorical central vignette of Hope. The only others we have seen in the past couple of decades were a $2 and a $5 proof, both sold by Stacks/Bowers. The aforementioned proofs were inferior in grade to the present offering and they both realized over $800 each. A rare Proof.
