Lot #45433 - NC-154c $1/8 Lion April 2, 1776

Very Desirable Fractional Denomination

Colonial Currency > North Carolina

NC-154c $1/8 Lion April 2, 1776
Grade: PCGS VF 25     PCGS
One of the most fascinating series in all of Colonial Currency, with 56 distinct varieties. Heavily collected with only three complete sets ever assembled. The fractional denomination notes are much scarcer as a general rule than the whole dollar notes. PCGS notes restorations but they are minimal at best. These April 2, 1776 notes wore out from use and eventually had to be replaced. The Newman note was a rather unsightly VG 10 with lots of problems, but that did not stop bidders from bringing it over the $400 figure.
Current Bid: $ 600.00

Estimate: ($ 1,000.00 - $ 2,000.00)
